Tommy did a great Job. Went above and beyond what we could have ever expected. We needed a space cleared to park our trailer that was covered in brush. We also needed our driveway to be re graveled. He made sure both areas were compacted so we wouldn’t get ruts and washouts. He even helped take down some widow makers we couldn’t reach so we could cut them up. He listened to what we needed and provided added ideas, including adding a trail so we could access the space and keep an eye on it from our house. Very reasonably priced!

Expert Arena Base Preparation in Princeton, MN
A solid arena base is the foundation every horse and rider depends on. TG Landworks handles arena base preparation for equestrian properties across Princeton, Isanti County, Sherburne County, and Hennepin County. The work starts with site evaluation and boxing out, removing topsoil down to firm, compacted native ground. From there, the subbase is built up and compacted layer by layer. Aggregate is then graded and compacted to create a stable, uniform surface that supports footing without shifting or settling. Outdoor arenas get a slight crown or slope built into the subbase so water drains away from the riding surface rather than pooling in the middle. Minnesota's freeze-thaw cycles put real stress on poorly prepared bases, so compaction at each layer matters. TG Landworks was built around a commitment to farm and ranch work done right, not cut short. If you are building a new arena or correcting an existing base that has failed, contact TG Landworks to talk through your site.

Arena Base Preparation FAQ
Common questions about arena base preparation in Princeton, MN.
Yes, base preparation is the first and most important step in any new arena build. Skipping or rushing it leads to uneven footing, drainage problems, and costly repairs down the road.
It includes boxing out the site, compacting the native subgrade, building up and compacting aggregate layers, and grading the surface with proper slope for drainage. Each layer is compacted before the next one goes down.
Soft spots and uneven areas usually point to base failure below the footing layer, not just a surface problem. TG Landworks can assess the base and correct the underlying issue.
A slight slope or crown built into the subbase directs rainwater and snowmelt away from the riding surface. Without it, water pools in the arena and breaks down the base from below.
Yes, TG Landworks handles base preparation for both indoor and outdoor arenas. Outdoor bases require a drainage slope built in at the subbase level, while indoor bases are graded flat.
Arena base preparation requires specific compaction standards, precise slope tolerances, and layered aggregate work suited to horse traffic and footing loads. It is not the same as grading a driveway or a field.
